Sweet Potato Cafe
Sweet Potato Café is a farm-to-table and family-owned restaurant. Nestled in an 1800’s craftsmen-style house located in the Historic Village of Stone Mountain, the Patton’s have owned the restaurant for approximately six years. It has its own onsite gardenand has been categorized as a small urban farm and is known for the freshness of its food. As its name implies, the menu features many items that include the ever so nutritious sweet potato. “Nature’s candy,” described by one of its young patrons.
Sweet Potato Café is a casual family-style restaurant with an upscale feel. The restaurant features a somewhat eclectic menu with many of the Chef’s favorites. The fried green tomatoes have become the restaurant’s number one seller with its black-eyed pea relish and roasted red pepper compote. The menu has something for everyone. Vegans and vegetarians alike. The lunch menu features grilled Paninis, their own black bean burger, salads, loaded sweet potatoes and for the meat lovers, a smoked Gouda burger with caramelized onions made with grass-fed beef. Dinner starts at 5:00 p.m. They feature a Kids menu and desserts change each day depending on the Chef. They serve beer and wine, and was voted “Best Ice Tea in Stone Mountain,” the first year they opened. They believe in free trade and their coffee comes from Cameroon. Sweet Potato Café has been recognized by Atlanta Eats as a restaurant it’s raving about and the first restaurant in Stone Mountain featured on its website.
